Temperament tests and notes

3 day notes

3 week plus ENS notes

6 week notes plus Score card

The Lion is the quietest of the litter. Broodish but you feel his energy and you are drawn to him.  The other pups are too; I often kind him in the middle of the puppy pile.  He did not move at all when placed on the scale, and when returned to the nest he bobbed his head for 2 seconds, found moms scent and when right back to her, and went to sleep.  Loose and acceting for the turn-over.

score    7-8                     Collar color -   Blue                weight  24 oz.

This puppy certainly is quite outward about his preferences and level of self comfort. In other words, he's easy to read. Unfortunately he's quite picky.  Anything above 87 degrees makes him very cranky. Colicky almost.  When he's hungry he calls for mom very clearly. Baloo is usually happy to oblige but if she isn't around for some reason he gets louder and louder.   He was tolerant of the temp tests, but it was clear he didn't like being dangled or turned over. He let me gain eye contact then scowled disapprovingly at me.  He went to mom and ate for a long time when returned to the nest.        Score 7-8                         Dew claws both rear legs             weight 5.1 lbs

The Lion is a perfect blend of his mom and dad.  He gets his joie de vivre and people loving skills from Stagger Lee. He gets his refined intelligence and the ability to "read between the lines"  from his mom. Baloo knows when you are lying to her. Temp test notes: Followed after a bit, but he lost me quickly being distracted by all and everything he could put in his mouth. He was patient for the turnover, glad to have it over with.   He didn't like the dangle.  The Lion wants his paws on the ground at all times.  This is a very nice pup with a ton of potential to be whatever is required of him. Beautiful structure with a refined head.  Perfect CMD coat.  He will need an interactive upbringing, involvement in family activities or barn yard chores.  Or...he might just need to stay here.

Score   7-8                                                                                                 Weight 8.5 lbs
