NOTES AT ONE YEAR OLD His temperament is outstanding. HE LOVES, loves, being held, hugged, layed on top of, and handled while he's chewing on toys, and bones. He has NO resource guarding. He will bring his bones over so we can hold them while he chews on them. He will to the AA "LEAN" while tearing up his stuffies. If he can, he will place the stuffy ON us, and tear it up while we "help" him.
He will get very hot (with temperature tape, I can read an increase of 2 degrees) on his forehead and between his eyes when he is especially cuddly, or when we hug him. He LOVES being hugged. The tighter and more covering the better. (This is not true of children, just adults - he "tolerates" kid hugs.) He has remained in a hug for 13 minutes, not moving, just breathing steady. He does not bark
Auggie chews his food. Every little piece is daintily chewed and swallowed. He drinks water the same way.
Very concerned when people cry. Gets clingy and almost over-sympathizes by insisting he be cuddled.
NOTES AT TEN YEARS OLD Much of his temperament noted at one year old remains the same. In his senior years he is still very trainable, sensitive and intuitive of our needs. He lives with a large working pack of Livestock Guardiian Dogs noow and he has his challenges negotiating all of his offspring and grandpups that are now part of that pack. Still no aggression but he is overwhelming sometimes. His food obsession is a pain in the butt sometimes. We have difficulty keeping him from hovering while we are in the kitchen. He still has a talent for being in the way.
His health really impresses me. Hips are good, eyesight and hearing are lessened but he is still sharp and engaging.
